double post today since yesterday was missed…
behind my forehead: a hornet’s nest full
of men and women of the jury, rattling
the hive with verdicts for every inch and note.
and i cannot hear but for the fury of the drones
i cannot feel but for the pierced palm.
light unto thy feet
so you can see the traps
without, we drift
in pitted darkness.
These are both “poetic fragments.” Not fully developed pieces yet, but “flash drafts,” the absolute first impressions of a piece: perhaps only one image, perhaps only words that I find to have curious and enlightening interactions.
